My first MOS was 89D (EOD) but I failed out of that AIT on week 16. What a nightmare that was. I literally got to a point that I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing and couldn’t “disarm” Russian explosives.
Funny, at MEPS I was gonna be a mechanic for a chinook but I have contacts, damn near blind, and i wasn’t eligible for that job when I tried to sign. So I said fuck it EOD lol.

Yeah it’s pretty bad. I’ve looked at lasik but doctors said it wouldn’t be worth it for me.

Yes. They gave me a list of 20 or so jobs, and to pick 6. So I picked 6 that I thought would be good.

tanker wasn’t even an option. So I’m pretty sure they put my wishlist on a dart board and threw it at an MOS LOL.
they said I could be a tanker or CBRN. Fuck CBRN. Ilearned too much about that mess at EOD school lol
At EOD school you could kinda BS it for a while, but like what happened to me, there comes a point you either know it or you don’t. Only 3 passed and they were all fresh West Point grads with some sort of engineering degree.
But I like what I do now. Firefighting is Easy. Only work 2-3 days a week (24 hrs a shift) unless I have to work a double.

This concludes another night of “random thing you don’t know about Gaige” I have to be up at 6:30 to wash truck. And by that, I mean watch rookies wash trucks while I sleep in the cab.
Hog hunting was a bust, buddies cousin was out running dogs raccoon hunting when we got there and we hoped for the best but...
