I could be wrong, But I think that SN and /26\ makes that 1964.
- 1964: 9 million /26\ marked guns, S/N ~9,000,001 to at least 9,218,138. First observation of short barrel lug, first observation of spike bayonet.

How much is a receiver and a barrel and then paying someone to build it? Do you save that much over just buying a used M70AB2? I'd assume you're really only gonna save money if you're someone who's gonna build it yourself and not someone who's gonna pay someone else to build it?
Correct. If you send it to someone, and get the parts, you aren’t saving money.

It’s not about the price really, it’s more about having a great builder build it 100% rock solid. Me personally? Childers receiver, bulged of course 100-120ish, chromed barrel 120.00 complete build and finish 650.00
There’s definitely cheaper builders, 300 and up, who do a good job but I like the guys who built mine and have a good relationship with them

Makes sense. So $650 + the $350 parts kit? I guess that's not too bad if it's what you want and you know you're getting a solid, well built gun from someone you trust.
