I'd proceed to the range with every round of ammo I could scrounge up for it, then leave it in the trunk of @AirOpsMgr mom's car when I'm done. Pretty much the same procedure @karlvv uses for dead hookers. Standard protocol.

I picked up my threaded barrel GSG on sale for $249. You can find those deals pretty regularly. Definitely can't beat it for the money.

Try the stripper. If that doesn't work, you're gonna either be living with it the way it is kr refinishing it.
I wouldn't touch paint stripper unless it was a last resort. We'll use it to clean up equipment that has accumulated layers of paint, but I wouldn't dare bring that shit anywhere near a car. It can be good for small stuff though.
