    AR Pistol Optics

I use a Docter with a large MOA dot. Very good for quick acquisition.

    AR Mags

The lancers do look bad ass but they don't load as smoothly with the strip lula loader. Also, they're a couple of dollars more.

AK lubrication: thin film of oil or dripping wet?

I will have to try this! Do you use it to clean too or is it strictly a lube?

    AR Mags

Can't like this post more than once so I'll quote it just to say that everything he said is spot on. Promag AR magazines are a complete waste of money. They are not worth the space to store them. Any GI mags can be 100% given that they have magpul followers. If you buy a GI mag on the...

AK lubrication: thin film of oil or dripping wet?

I'll have to find the article but apparently it stated that WD40 is shitty for firearms.

What is your preferred cheap ammo?

Wolf Gold for the AR and Wolf Poly for the AK.

AR lubrication: thin film of oil or dripping wet?

I just use the standard CLP and have never had a stoppage due to lack of lube. But then again, I've never run one much past 600 rounds without relubing (and usually cleaning too). I've had good results with hornady one shot too but it doesn't seem to cycle as smoothly.

Best bang for my buck Red Dot sight

I've had Lucids, Sparcs, Muellers, and a couple of other Chinese cheapos. I got rid of them. I only buy four types of non-magnified sights now depending on usage and budget: PA basic RDS (Chinese cheapos but a good one), Aimpoint PRO, Aimpoint T1, or irons.

    AR slings

I have owned a number of the best-selling slings over the course of the last five years (when I first got into "modern sporting rifles"). For me, the blue force gear sling is by far the useful sling and I now own five of them. The vtac sling is a distant second.

This Cover Should Piss a Few Off

That sucks. Sorry that you and your wife are having to deal with this. But I guess there's a silver lining...you can unlock your beer fridge now, right?

    Reality Check: Full auto ratings

Because non-FA rated cans are also not rated for the mag dumps that I may want to do.

    The 30-30, reconsidered...

    None

Chris Kyle killed Katrina kids while sniping secluded from a super standpoint on a Superdome structure. Or something like that.

    The 30-30, reconsidered...

And if your aunt had balls, she'd be your uncle. In all seriousness, though, I just tried to poke you guys a bit. I like lever actions and the 30-30 is a known performer. I only wish you could get more rounds in those tubular, under-barrel magazines. And CZ makes a "mini-Mauser" bolt action...

    The 30-30, reconsidered...

The great thing about the 30-30 cartridge is that you can see how much progress we've made in a hundred years. You can fit the same fucking ballistic performance in a much smaller 762x39 or 300 blackout casing and give gramps his lever action back.
