I'm done with untested budget shit...
I don't mind a known budget manufacturer like Anderson but these CTS's, ATI's, DAT's, DTF's, mixed up acronym startups, I'm not sure if I'm about to lose a digit/appendage when I pull the trigger.
Well-placed 5.56 shots will do the trick but I prefer my 6.8 rifle - especially if I'll be on the ground walking.
The SSA 6.8 rounds are pretty impressive.
I bought a Steyr AUG online one night after a couple of drinks. It wasn't a bad gun or purchase.
I sometimes order an ass ton of AR parts when under the influence. I'll wake up the next day and think, "oh well, time for two more builds."
A .556MM rifle would be very wimpy indeed...if it existed.
Or were you talking about a .556 inch caliber beast? Probably not a wimp at all!
For 5.56MM rifles, I prefer the strength of metal to prevent wear and slop at the pin holes.
I love me some BCM. I traded off a BCM mid length lightweight BFH upper two months ago for something I had to have, and I've been regretting it for 60 days. (Stupid Stupid Me!)
What are the odds that this will be your "go to" AR? If those odds are high, then BFH all-the-way.
If you're not...
Sorry, I've been neglecting this thread. I will ship it to you at cost via PayPal. PM me your address and I will send you the amount needed to ship (not to exceed $10).
I have three lancer mags and they function fine. I was really concerned about feeding with them because it seems that the bullet tip of the top round could easily catch on the lip and jam. I've never had this happen when firing - only when stripping rounds out of a loaded mag by hand.
That -...
I have one of those special spacers if you want. Of course, $2.50 of quarters also works.
I bought the spacer before deciding on a longer dedicated buffer. Needless to say, the special 9mm buffer doesn't work with the spacer.
I've never seen the appeal of these at 2.5x the cost of a standard stripped upper. Your money, though - spend it the way you want.
Also it takes a special type of kit interference to yank a standard charging handle out of battery with the locking mechanism. Not likely but possible I guess...
I've never had any problems with AP parts in a number of my builds. Everything was nice and tight.
Having said that...their barrels have never seemed to be any better or worse compared to other mil spec arrangements. I've never shot these builds from a true 'benchrest' setup but with a bipod at...
