AR Mags

Okay guys I'm new to a ARs I need some help. I want to Fin Feather and Fur today and picked up some P mags I don't know if they're any good or not. They were 19.95 at peace.
My Colt came with the aluminum Colt 30 round magazine. I would like some feedback on what you guys use now and the price of them.

I use only the Magpul PMAG 20 and PMAG 30 magazines in my AR.

PMAG's have a very good reputation. I just picked up 20 of the 30 rounders. They were the non window type Gen3. My FFL price is 9.40 each. The window type are 12.34 each. They also make a 40 round mag!

I'm going to try and pick up 20-30 per month for the next few months.

I have a few P-mags and a half dozen of the aluminum (used) mags.....30 rounders, they all work.

The P-mags were bought a while back, cost about $12 for window mags. They've gone up a little since then.

The used aluminum ones came from a local shop and cost me $5 per. I took them apart and cleaned them. They were dirty when I got 'em. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a dozen more. They work fine.

I use the Magpul PMag 30-rounders too, except the ones without the window. I like the Gen 2 versions. I've got a few C-Products 20-round mags I use at the shooting bench.

I use the Magpul PMag 5,10, and 30 rounders. I also have a bunch of standard military mags that I got from my nephew, who is currently in the Army. All work without a problem.

Get them while you can. I tell customers and everyone that might listen, to take action now. If Killary gets elected, there will be a run on AR's and 30 round mags like you have never seen. This will be true for high capacity pistol mags as well. Likely will be a run on handguns in general too.

I prefer the 30rd PMags, I don't care what Gen they are or if they have the window or not. $19.95 is too much for a PMag. Companies like DSG Arms have regular sales for around $9 each, and sometimes shipping is covered.

To be honest, I like the GI mags, but I make sure they have the Israeli follower. ( Its in all of the Pmags BTW...)

$20 is a terrible price, but I have had great luck with gen 2/3 PMAGS, also the D&H aluminum mags are quite solid as well.

I use aluminum with Magpul followers exclusively. Never an issue.

Pmags are good to go for sure. $20 is too much though, even for gen 3 windowed ones. those should be more like $15. Non windowed from $9-12 depending on gen 2 or 3.

The majority of my AR mags are Magpul PMAGs (a variety of Gen 2, Gen 3, windowed and non-windowed). I've never paid close to $20 for any AR mag online.

The only AR mags that I've come across that are complete crap are the the "ProMag" brand mags; I tried a 30 and 42 round version years ago and both failed to feed in a Milspec AR, threw them in the trash.

Can't like this post more than once so I'll quote it just to say that everything he said is spot on.

Promag AR magazines are a complete waste of money. They are not worth the space to store them.

Any GI mags can be 100% given that they have magpul followers.

If you buy a GI mag on the cheap-cheap and you experience issues, a $2 magpul follower will - in my experience - make it 100% reliable. You could also buy a new spring for cheap too but I haven't had to do so with any of the ones I've bought - just had to add the magpul followers for the very few that had the occasional feed issue.

I wont pay more than $12 for a pmag in the current market. If I am going to pay more than that I would get some of the Lancer mags, but that is mostly because I think they are cool looking.

The lancers do look bad ass but they don't load as smoothly with the strip lula loader. Also, they're a couple of dollars more.
