I'm just having some fun. ;)

So am j when talking politics;)

The whole foods donut was pretty good. Maple glaze a bit too sweet for my taste, but the bacon was excellent, plentiful and the donut itself was good. There are better donuts around town but hard to beat for $1.19.

I had a 336 in 30-30. It was a fun little rifle. I sold it a while back, and now regret it. I do still have a 30-30, but it is a bolt action

I've had several hunting rifles over the years, and the marlin was my favorite. I shot a deer at 230 yards with one. Dropped it in it's tracks.

The great thing about the 30-30 cartridge is that you can see how much progress we've made in a hundred years. You can fit the same fucking ballistic performance in a much smaller 762x39 or 300 blackout casing and give gramps his lever action back.

True, but how often do you run into 7.62x39 rifles that AREN'T AK/SKS? There are bolts, break singles, break doubles, etc...but you don't come across them often in these parts. Then again, some of just like gramp's rifle.

You have never shot my reloads with spire point bullets out of 30-30. The problem is with the tubular magazine, not the cartridge. A 300 magnum would be a 300 yard cartridge if loaded with flat point bullets.

And if your aunt had balls, she'd be your uncle.

In all seriousness, though, I just tried to poke you guys a bit. I like lever actions and the 30-30 is a known performer. I only wish you could get more rounds in those tubular, under-barrel magazines.

And CZ makes a "mini-Mauser" bolt action in 762x39. It's on my list to have someday.
