Smith and Wesson releasing threaded, tall sight, and milled slide M&P
I'm the same way, i can't even tell why i don't consider them when buying. But the core models do attract me with the milled slides.

Theres also a ported version with a milled lightened slide. It comes with a ported(for compensators) and non ported threaded barrel.

Smith and Wesson releasing threaded, tall sight, and milled slide M&P
Comes with both threaded and standard barrel. 1/2x28. Adds $175 to the MSRP, which is a steal with the added benefit of a threaded barrel($100-$200), tall sights ($60), and slide milling ($$$).

Does gun technology suck?
on top of that the silencer market is exploding and 3d printed sintered metal cans are opening up a whole new ability to make complex core designs.

Does gun technology suck?
its there, but we're having to jump around electronics due to ATF regs. Here's a neat example.

The keltec 308 bull pup has a specially designed top cover that creates a designed failure point to the side right. Good for righties bad for lefties

Depends on the gun newer bull pups have much better linkages. The electronic 10/22 bull pup trigger is AMAZING!

No it's simply that there isn't a standard receiver to pump out that has a universal spec and parts market.
