Ask for pics of the top rail. Gen 1 Ace had lightning cuts in the rail. It is not a ridgit if you put heavy optics, according to gun review rags. I have both solid Gen 2 and lighter Gen1. Both were plenty rigid for me. But you can use it to negotiate the price down, if it is Gen 1.
Also Gen 1 comes in all cardboard box, Gen 2 comes in the cardbox with the foam insert.

Last year a braced Gen 2 was around $1600, cheapest. Non braced was on sale for $1100, IIRC, for a very short time. So $1950 is not too bad, compare to $1600.

all said and done how bad of a deal is a galil ace 7.62x39 pistol for $1950, i know what the og prices are but with panic inflation it doesn't seem to terrible

I actually always send the form in with the number of people in the house for this reason. I just never answer the other questions. I don't know about every year, but in 2000 there was a huge push to contact people who didn't answer all the questions & browbeat us into it.

That is funny as I only answer the questions about who lives in my house and leave the rest with a n/a in it.
