If you plan on keeping the stock you could change the upper receiver to m4 with the feed ramps on it. If you keep the upper you could swap the stock out for a 7 pos adj Vltor A5 buffer system and use a different stock ... I like Magpul STR it’s my fav. Otherwise carry on

Hah! I’m just making sure it was normal wear in tear. My dad bought this brand new in 98 and is having some double feed issues with it. I think it’s just the shorty mags but I’m giving the whole thing a once over before I give it back to him

New mags should fix the problem... remember that mags are a disposable item. That's why you need to stock up on them.
