My first handgun when I was 21 was an old model 10, the hammer had been bobbed and the single action seat removed, so it was DAO. It had been issued to the Colombian National Police at some point - had a nice big rollmark on the side of the frame. I was able to hit gallon milk jugs at 50 yards with it - on the third try...
Stupid me thought I needed more horsepower so I traded it in on a 686. That gun just wasn’t as accurate. Still miss my old DAO 10, but never seen another with the Colombian markings.
The welds and the finish on the mag look too good to be Egyptian. The painted on finish on Egyptian mags is very fragile and flakes easily.....just like the finish on their AKMs. The Romanian mags are probably most misidentified mags out there it seems. I think that’s due to the heavy influence in both machinery and tech support from the Russians early on in Romanian AK production. Same thing happened in Egypt, so the AKMs and especially the mags have some very similar traits.
107fr is one of the best AKs you can get. They jumped pretty hard in prices since 4-5 years ago. I got mine new for 999.99 at Cherokee gun and pawn. Now they’re all 1400+
