Washer?Anyone know the best way to get the moldy smell off of surplus canvas gear? I got the coolest bag from Sportsman's guide yesterday - a paratrooper rucksack. Smells really musty. (I know, surplus gear smells like that. but this is extreme!)
I've got it hanging open in the garage now, wondering about charcoal or baking soda treatments.

when we had carpet we would use baking soda all the time to help fight odor. Spread it out on the carpet. Let us sit for ~30 minutes and vacuum up.
I would dust the whole bag with baking soda and just let it sit then shake it out. Since it’s not flat like a carpet I would do repeated rounds until it smells the way you want it

Or maybe it is my KAGA hat that's keeping them away
