I like to split the habaneros, serranos, etc.. and put them on the smoker for hours. If they don't get completely dry, I'll finish them in the dehydrator. Jar them up, and add to chili (or whatever) as desired. Gives a great smoky heat.
If I dry any, I thread some dental floss through the stems and hang over my fridge. The warm dry air that rolls up from behind the fridge dries them good.
I'm going to fire the smoker up and try your ways. Sounds like more flavors your ways and smoke cures about anything.
Thanks

Slice up those banana peppers into wedges, batter and deep fry them. Freaking good!

Where my Gearheads at?

I forwarded it to one of my new techs. But he will likely follow the other guys which usually like to wait for the tool truck to show up and buy at full retail + interest that they make payments on. Not smart but whatever.
One guy has about $80k in tool debt.

Yes they are :thumb:
I egg them and 50/50 flour/cornmeal for that extra crunch and flavor.
I actually do a lot of peppers battered and fried in olive oil.

Red Lunchbox prepper is my favorite prepped that way

Went in debt years ago on tool trucks. Paid them all off and now I'll use whatever gets the job done if I find I need something I don't have. By no means does it have to be the top 3.

Tool trucks aren't what they use to be. You use to pay for service but now days if you're not buying, they don't stop by.

Hard to beat the price and quality for the Harbor Freight boxes these days. If I could go back I wouldn't have bought my big Snap-on box.

Thanks man! I actually have a little wiggle room on it as well, and you already know that's a seriously heavy duty box. If he can swing the money, it's better than making payments and paying full retail. He could probably keep the tools and trade the box in and get more trade in value than he paid.

I'll have to try those red peppers! Now I'm hungry!

Sent the link to a buddy of mine who runs a fairly large shop.

Thanks man!

I was in Harbor Freight this weekend and they have expanded their tool box line...the new boxes are a nice step up from their US General boxes...super nice.

I agree with you about whatever tool gets the job done, but I will say that Snap-On/Wera/Wiha screw drivers are a step up above the others.

What % is sae vs metric? That would be the main concern as they use very few sae tools.

Yeah I don‘t know about the harbor freight stuff. Compared to most USA and German stuff, the harbor freight stuff is absolute junk.
Keep in mind tools in a service and repair shop aren’t just used once a weekend on a lawnmower, they are used throughout the day 20 days a month on precision hardware.
Besides strength, precision made is another factor in tools which you will not get with chinese stuff and often cause stripped bolt heads and other issues
