What % is sae vs metric? That would be the main concern as they use very few sae tools.

Unfortunately the bias is more SAE than metric. I think the sockets are about 50/50 or close, but the wrenches are more SAE. In the pics, the drawer with the Allen key sets are the metric, the other drawer is SAE.

Yeah I don‘t know about the harbor freight stuff. Compared to most USA and German stuff, the harbor freight stuff is absolute junk.
Keep in mind tools in a service and repair shop aren’t just used once a weekend on a lawnmower, they are used throughout the day 20 days a month on precision hardware.
Besides strength, precision made is another factor in tools which you will not get with chinese stuff and often cause stripped bolt heads and other issues

@KERTWOOD makes a living turning wrenches...

He did mention the toolboxes specifically, maybe I wrongfully assumed he meant harbor freight tools.
Even so, cheap toolboxes may work but don’t hold any resale value.

In case you just fell of the turnip truck, have you ever tried selling a name brand box for even half the retail price? Look at @Fast306stang example. He's finding it quite difficult to get off his snapon box.

I will agree that most of the truck hand tools are far superior in quality but what you're really paying big bucks for is their service. With the younger generation now buying trucks the service is lacking in my area. Well all except for the MAC guy.

Seriously, I enjoy this thread but you guys have so much good information and content that could be shared in other forums, threads, etc. that would really help grow this community. I’d consider it a personal favor if you’d consider doing so. Thanks.
I’ve found that when someone tags me in a thread I hadn’t known about, I’ll often follow that thread and check in on updates as I’m able.
Reality is that while I love the SET site, and have a lot of friends here, I miss out on a lot of content because I’m not very good at finding stuff here unless I’m tagged into it, or someone says “hey, did you see that thread about...”

I’d be the WORST Mod ever. Lol.

Lots of interest, but no money yet. Fortunately I'm not in a "have to sell" situation but the cash would definitely help things. I can replace the box and tools later but I also have another single bay Snap-On box and tools inside the house. I would have put this one in the house and put the smaller one in the garage, but this one was too big to turn the corner into the hallway!

Empty the big toolbox. Put it on its side on a piece of carpet, with the fuzzy side down. Turn the corner in the hallway.

Thanks! I'll try that more often! Just did that on my phone (takes forever to load since it's an old Iphone6+) and found a request from @dougiemac for a small 9mm pistol - which I'd gotten tired of trying to sell because of so many lowball/sketchy offers!
