This 100% AR10 to me is still not reliable enough for me and the 308 I use as stated before is a Ruger Scout Bolt Action.
First ever transaction on ODT was selling that savage. It was sad. I didn’t want too. I had surgery and was out of work for 3 months and had to sell it.

What about M1A platform? Maybe scout version?
What reliability issues have you had with the AR10 platform? I have the AR10 in 6.5CM and haven't had an issue yet.
Anybody have actual experience with the Mossberg MVP scout bolt guns that will use AR10 mags or M1A mags? I've never actually used a Mossberg rifle, only their shotguns.
My Sig 716 has never had one hiccup. It’s just heavy is the only drawback

@Grunk I’ve never shot this rifle. It’s my friends from the navy, and I’m keeping it until he gets back. He said I could shoot it, but. I scope other than 3xs lol. But I do play with it...
Loved my M1A scout. hated having to sell it.
EDIT: If I had the $ right now, my 1st purchase would probably be the SA M1A Tanker with the 2 extra mags & scope mount deal going on.
But I don’t expect it to be a super high end precision rifle..it was like $700. If it can hit steel at 800 yards he will be happy. I know it can. His savage axis with the basic ass trigger and shit scope could hit 500.

I personally have not had an issue with my 308 AR10 from palmetto state but I just have not shot it enough for it to be my go to.
Remember 500 rounds down range does not make it #1 on your go to list.
I have Read and herd from reliable sourses about problems with some AR10's so I will wait till I have enough lead down range to make a new Decision.
I have a M14 Scout Squad rifle and Love it and the M14 Platform is nothing but reliable but I do not need that in a home defense situation as I will have my Mitts on a Shorty AR15.
Would I use a M14 rifle if I had too HELL YES.
