She's not an angry person and wouldn't do that to him. She also is from Japan and if you know oriental women, they have this stigma about "This isn't my country, not my language" and they feel like Americans might not take her side I guess.

The retraining order last time meant she got kicked out of "her house" and she was adamant that she had every right to go back. Which I understand but I think the dementia makes her hard headed to a fault. She doesn't think clearly anymore, it's not bad all the time but I know she's tried to jump out of a moving car bc she didn't think she would get hurt and she left my brother's house to walk 11 miles home when the restraining order was active. Luckily my brother's neighbor picked her up and called Chris and brought her back, she had walked out while we were grilling on the back porch.

She is very adamant about it's "her house" and she doesn't feel like she should have to leave, and I guess doesn't think he will actually kill her. He's told perfect strangers that he would kill her without a 2nd thought.

I have an entire unused upstairs with a full bath she could move in but she won't listen to me bc she thinks it would be a burden.

Do you know of anyone local who's Japanese? They might have some approaches that could help.
(I know a lot of people who are oriental or married to orientals, but I don't think anyone's Japanese.)

I don't know anyone...years ago I might have had some contacts but not anymore. I've gotten some good advice here in the thread and PMs...I have a few starting points now that I wouldn't have thought of. I appreciate everyone's help. I know I get rough around the edges sometimes but if I try and tone it down and get all PC...it won't come across the same.

For what it's worth, i was driving my daughter home from soccer last week after dark and one ran right in front of me. If there had been a second one following it (like normal), I'd be looking for a newer used car.

I had my high beams on, not driving to fast, and thought i was paying close attention. But that wasn't good enough.

Suicidal Deer.

My son caught up with one a couple months ago, broke the headlight and turn signal, dent in the hood.
His 4Runner is a year newer than mine, and it’s wheathered the assault well enough (I don’t have any vehicles less than 20 yrs old, so yeah - he’s driving a POS @Jake )

Really funny thing is that he enjoys how beat up his car is, and wouldn’t let me fix it for him. Kids. Gotta love em!!!

I ain't filing shit with insurance. The car is a POS anyways. People who buy 16YO's nice cars are stupid. They're just gonna crash them withing the first 6 months(in this case, 3 months).

Smart. No way I would turn that in either.

Lots of "pull a part" or "you pull it" salvage yards around and most have decent online inventory of cars with color of car noted.
Several up my way and a few full service yards that pull the parts for ya.
Fender and headlight assembly is fairly easy to replace

She's fine. She clipped it with the front passenger side. It cracked the headlight and dented the fender. Scared her more than anything.

Son is driving an '05 Honda Pilot - which was our family car since new. We won't talk about insurance rates. Other son has absolutely zero interest in driving, so we have that going for us...
