Alright so i figured out what’s wrong with the Chinese drum. Nothing. Glad I stopped filling/sanding it lol. After a few minutes I knew there was something more going on then the Chinese drum.
The RPK seems to have a mag release that needs to be filed down a little. It has issues inserting and removing most romy steel mags. Not enough clearance for the release to well release itself and set comfortably when a mag is inserted. How hard is it to remove a AKM-RPK mag release? @DeanMoriarty @Miles @KhyberPass

I have the compact version USPC. Same caliber. I feel like I’d like the full size better. The compact just needs to be 9mm or if you are oio rich 357 sig

removing a magazine latch isn’t hard, reinstalling it is a whore.
I used to get in trouble at the shop I worked at for talking to someone for 2 hours about gun history and all the features and ignore other customers and not make the sale because they weren’t serious to begin with

It gets mad at basically any mag metal. Plastic Bulgarian 40rd it likes. I’m def willing to go through the pain to remove it can’t stay like this

It is but the RPK has a slightly different set up then the AKM. Allowing more clearance but it’s still a hairs ass to short. A file would fix the issue

If you zoom in on my photos you can see I think. The AKM is flush but the RPK has a cut out allowing more clearance. The mag will seat and mag release will lock but it’s fucking tight
I mean I’d file before I drilled out that mag latch rivet and tried to install a new latch. Chances are you’ll have to file and fit the new latch lol
Sup with the round corners in that slot? Do lugs actually ft in that?
