The Compact Carry Forum's abbreviation/mnemonic glossary

Some of y'all might not even know we have a glossary of abbreviations that might be found in the Compact Carry Forums. The glossary is located in our General Forum Rules area. You can get there by clicking on forum glossary. If anyone can think of abbreviations that should be added, please...

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

I surely didn't know what the abbreviation. However, I've added it to the forum glossary. If y'all could peruse the forum glossary (click the link) and let me know what may be missing, then I'll add that to the glossary. Thanks all...

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

Thanks. I don't participate in any auction sites so I've missed that one.

    Where has Mayo been?

My brother (four years younger than I am) had the radioactive seed treatment and his PSA numbers are near zero now. I'm still having biopsies done every couple of years. So far, they've found nothing of interest but my PSA numbers have been quite high for nearly a decade.

CAUTION: Ruger LCP totally destroyed by bad "commercial" loads

I agree. I definitely would not shoot ammo loaded by just anyone. I'd have to know a lot about how much care a person takes when reloading, what "recipe" he/she used, and a bit more.

CAUTION: Ruger LCP totally destroyed by bad "commercial" loads

If you're referring to reloads that are on somebody's shelf for sale, I agree. If, on the other hand, you load your own or have a friend that you trust explicitly to do a proper job of reloading, there's nothing wrong with shooting reloaded ammo. Almost all the ammo I shoot has been reloaded...

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

I'm darned glad that I purchased my AR, ammo, and reloading supplies before the real crunch started. Fortunately, I have enough reloading supplies (for all my calibers) for about two to three years of the amount range shooting that I do these days. I have always bought larger quantities of...

    Air rifle of the week

That's why I choose to use a .22 rifle to dispatch the garden-eating rabbits in our yard (out in the country). I don't want to just make them mad or, worse yet, just wound them.

That is absolutely the best news here, Craig. Let her know we're all very proud of her.

I think that's going to get the shop into rather hot water. It should.

    Ruger "American" in .243...

I had to look that one up. It doesn't seem that the Handi Rifle (either by New England Firearms or H&R) is made in .243 any more. I'd say that you have a real gem there - single shot, no feeding action or magazines to mess with. I like it. I did notice in reading the current manual that thou...

CAUTION: Ruger LCP totally destroyed by bad "commercial" loads

Please read this article about a shooter's LCP being totally destroyed by bad ammo. This article points out three things that are important for folks to understand. 1) If one is reloading ammunition, it is critically important to very carefully inspect the production of ammo to prove that...

A long gun & shotgun outdoor range trip...

I like what I see there. I wish our club had such nice facilities. 100 yards is the max for us on the rifle range and the firing points are out in the weather. The really nice parts about our range are that the range is 8 miles away for me and for those over 65 (including me) the dues are a...

    The Undetectable Firearms Act...

I think the plastic pistols should be made in .44 Magnum and issued to bad guys with the caveat that they need to get them issued at a range where they MUST practice with them before leaving the range. ::)
