    What's for supper?

How can a guy lose weight with all this going on? :P

    New Beretta Pico

You got it. I dunno why Dave thought I might want one... ::) By the way, here is Beretta's web page for the Pico. I measured the thickness of my LCP and it's a nominal 20mm max except for 20.6mm right at the slide hold-open.

    New GP100 grips!

That would have been my first guess, but there are many types of wood which are grouped under that name.

    New GP100 grips!

OK..... Maybe you can find out what it's called?

    New GP100 grips!

Those look really nice. What type of wood is that? It's not something I recognize.

    New whitetail slayer.....

The "Mark 4" suggestion was merely for the family of mounts. I do a lot of scope/mount work at our club's annual deer rifle sight-in (as the "gunsmith" for the event) and I find lots of problems with the run-of-the-mill scope mounts from Weaver and others and like the Leupold mounts very much...

    New whitetail slayer.....

Sontag, Tasco scopes were essentially cheap scopes that seldom really held up well. Your rifle deserves a good Leupold scope on a set of really good mounts such as the Leupold Mark 4 mount system.

    New whitetail slayer.....

The Remington 700 is one of my favorite rifle actions. This one looks great too. Good find.

    Argentine Mauser Model 1891

Very interesting. I'd like to see how the bolt design differs (if it does) from the '98 design.

    Grab bars for bathroom

I found out that one manufacturer - Liberty Hardware - makes grab bars with a number of brand names. Their brand names include Franklin Brass, Safety First, Delta, Centurion, and others. I talked for a while with their Customer Service and concluded that virtually all of the brands come off...

    Grab bars for bathroom

Since quite a few of us have some years behind us, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the good quality brand names of bathroom grab bars would be. There are quite a few brands available on the web but I don't know how to weed out the good ones from the junkers. We're particularly interested...

    Extended thumb safety

I'm guessing that the choice of holster would make a difference? I've never carried my 1911 (a tweaked Gold Cup).

    Extended thumb safety

If I were going to build up another 1911 and, especially if I intended to carry it, I'd install an ambidextrous safety.

    Lawmakers to stop gov. hoarding!

That article is definitely written by someone who didn't know what he was writing about (bullets, black powder, etc.). I find the article somewhat funny to read but I suspect many readers won't know any better and would miss the unintended humor.

    Lawmakers to stop gov. hoarding!

What somewhat surprised me is this AMMO Act bill isn't in any of the mainstream media's news channels that have looked through.

Looking to buy a concealed carry jacket. Suggestions?

I don't think I'd ever get a jacket with a built-in holster or even carry a pistol exclusively in a jacket pocket. I tend to take my jackets off and wouldn't want the pistol to have to stay in the jacket if I took the jacket off. I use a Bulldog cell phone holster to carry my LCP 99% of the...

    Remington FMJ bullets--Any good?

Doug - what sort of price are you looking at for the 2000 lot? The going price is about $215 plus shipping at a web-based retail source that I use.

    Remington FMJ bullets--Any good?

First off, I have no experience with those bullets. I usually use Hornady bullets for that type, size, and weight. However, as an example, I have found bullets (.224 55gr FMJ w/cannelure by Winchester) that are very sloppily made compared to the same type of Hornady bullets that I use for my...

Nambu Type 94 - reminds me of a Ruger

Very interesting. I don't think I've ever seen such detailed photos or descriptions before. Thanks.

    A must-have .22 cal

I really like my old (German-made) PPK/S in .380. It's heavy compared to today's pocket .380 pistols, but it can handle hotter loads all week long with no problem.
