If your going to replace the brake and mount a scope I don't see any huge benefit on the scout rifle over the hog hunter.

I got the one from @White that I think will work great. At most this will be a 100yd rifle. Its just my deer gun.

I carry a spare mag most of the time. I do this for 2 reasons: 1. mag related failure 2. If the situation dictates it, I like having a mag I can just unload to keep someones head down and hopefully buy me some time to get away/to cover/etc... without leaving me with an empty gun.

Full, I have no problem slamming a mag home and have never had any issues.
