OP, you could consider hitting a pawn shop in the area and picking up tools on the cheap. I am sure there are plenty of shops and tools are usually main staple. Just need to get your jig back.

The Excel Arms is junk in .17 HMR. I have one in .22 mag and it runs great.

They now have .17 WSM in an AR platform and ammo is easily available.
