I guy I work with just built his first AR after hearing me talk about how cheap and easy it was. He came back the next day after assembling and told me he had messed it up somehow. I didn't understand what he was saying at first but he did exactly what you did. So don't feel bad.

I wouldn't worry about parts like that but a heavy hood that's not made of the same gauge steel as OEM worries me. Read too many bad things about the horrible time people have had lining them up and gaps and what not.

I haven't found anything OEM on eBay yet.

Im trying to track down a TRD Sport hood for my Tacoma and I don't really want to pay $350 for a new one and pay to get it painted. I was wondering if there are any good junkyards in the Northwest GA area? My uncle owns Bohanons in Fort O but can't go there(family problems over said business)...
