It would solve the co-witness problem, but that thing is fucking ugly.

I want to play with it, but the front sight on the 590 with ghost ring sights is pretty high. Probably wouldn't work with an eotech or aimpoint but something like a Burris fastfire or similar may sit low enough to at least see the top enough to "aim"

I think it will be fun. This fall I hope to do some indoor IDPA style pistol and rifle matches. I'm sure I'll come in very low but I think it will be fun.

I don't care about being competitive, it would be for fun and "training". I know it isn't actually training but it will get me shooting under stress that I can't do as easy at the range.

Ive researched a good bit and havent found a good solution for any sort of co-witness. I figure that if the optic goes down then at HD ranges I still should be ok point shooting till I can pull the optic off. I hope to use the set up for 3 gun so a reddot would help with that some and be good...

My next shotgun will either be an 870 or 590 with Magpul stock and foregrip, ghost ring sights, and maybe a small reddot. Is all the necessary? No, but I like it and think it would be a cool shotgun.

I was always a little concerned about moisture getting inside the plastic and rusting any metal underneath. Probably wasn't an issue but was one possible problem I had with that design.

I liked the Nova I used to have, I think GSP issued them for a while.

I prefer the 870 for a HD gun because its easy to add mag extensions and I like the flat finsih. I prefer the 500 for hunting because I like the tang safety when I am using gloves and I can switch it on and off easier when bringing the gun up to my shoulder.

If you have to be able to use it for both then the 870 or 500 are your best options. For me, the things I look for in a hunting shotgun vs a HD shotgun are different and shotguns are cheap enough that I am ok having one for each role. personally I would buy a HD pump and then if you wanted a...
