Just say no, to recessed cans!

    Ruger Silent-SR

It was a pretty neat solution. Most cans that incorporate some sort of anti-rotation are monocore. The baffle design is unique, but it appears that someone at ruger really did their research.

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

Yeah, I know what you mean. In this case, it doesn't have anywhere to go, as it's captured internally. They are sold in sets, so a few hundred rounds of experimentation (probably a lot less) would allow you to pick the right one, install it and forget about it. To me, it's essentially a...

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

This basically accomplishes the same thing as the RGP barrel that I have on order. It would allow you to drastically improve gas flow on overgassed barrels. @freedom From the BRT website: BRT CustomTune Gas Port™ Features The BRT CustomTune Gas port reduces gas system flow and can...

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

I believe they will last quite a bit longer. Probably would erode at a pace similar to the gas port itself. One guy I know who shoots a lot has been running one for a couple of years now. He installed it into a very over gassed Sabre Defense short barrel. Nothing but praise. It's really meant to...

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

I know a couple of guys that have used them and were very pleased. They can't really come loose, because they're captured inside the block. And I wouldn't expect them to clog with carbon. If anything, they'd get frozen into place.

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

LMT gas blocks are press fit. But for the average Joe, it's not really an option. But I get what you're saying. The BCM blocks are pretty tightly toleranced, unlike some I've seen that would practically spin on the gas journal. With a BCM, what little space there is, will seal itself off pretty...

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

Yeah, it's the luck of the draw with blems. The ones I've had were really, really minor. Like a spec in the anodizing. But I really like the BCM4 uppers because they have a tight fit to the barrel extension. And for $80, they're hard to beat.

    Ultimate suppressed upper?

Solid choice. Sionics actually uses a lot of MI rails on their complete uppers and rifles. I'm going to use a blem upper from BCM. They have finally worked through all of their old stock and the current blems are the BCM4 receivers. I've used a lot of BCM blem uppers and have rarely found a...

    My Sheriff's Department doesn't 'do' NFA/ATF fingerprinting

The whole of Twiggs County Government is a sad joke. Not surprised. Here in Henry County, probate court does electronic prints for your GWL, but you can't get a copy. For that, you have to go to the Sheriff's Office, which also happens to be the County Jail.

How small are we talking? The mini AAC and surefire cans barely have room for their mounts + a few baffles.

A good patent ought to cover the concept. Interestingly, that video left out any depiction of the QD cans being attached.

Modular cans are the new hotness and have a certain appeal. Especially for new folks getting into suppressors and people who only want one can to do it all. But, there are compromises. For someone who wants the shortest, lightest, quietest can for a given caliber, the modular design doesn't...
