So just watched this video

And I can't help but think that it looks very similar to the Sandman line of cans....

The only pic I can find of the mounting device is this.looks like it uses an 3 lug style mount for timing (opposite of sandman)

I sure hope Dead Air bought the rights to the design from the designer, but yes that looks surprisingly similar.

Whoa. The mount looks a little different (lugs?), but the QD portion looks very similar in design. I suppose we'll have to wait and see exactly how it works to know for certain. I'm sure that Dead Air will be watching closely.

Dead airs Ratchet portion isn't all that unique on the exterior.

My thinking exactly.

As far as the ratchet, I wasn't really thinking about outward appearance, so much as how it actually attaches to the mount. Hopefully they've got a patent in the works.

A good patent ought to cover the concept. Interestingly, that video left out any depiction of the QD cans being attached.

I noticed that too. And I can't seem to find any other info on it.
