I had a scoped .556/.223 bolt gun that that shot PMC bronze almost as well as any handload that I could devise from 50 grains on up off a bench. The day last year that I learned to properly use irons was the end of my optics use on most rifles, and was the end of my obsession with bolt guns; as...
Deep breaths, no one is knocking your products. We know that you are skilled in your trade and are trying to make a living like everyone else. All we are saying is that if cans were deregulated, prices would go down. Just like any other market, from commodities to booze during the 20's.
Well a Model T Ford looks an awful lot different than a 2015 F150, and a cell phone looks a lot different that a telegraph machine. Isn't it amazing what 100 years can do for all technology and materials.
You can load some good ammo with a Lee, but it is like buying tools at Harbor Freight. Get a RCBS/ Lyman/ Redding kit and you will not have to buy/upgrade again.
My Hornady seating dies seem to damage the bullets by pressing a ring into them. I have started using my RCBS on match 168 bullets. I think the jackets may be softer than hunting bullets.
Looks like you are working up a good load. You are doing the right things. I find a light crimp from a Lee factory crimp die does not hurt accuracy on rounds running thru a gas gun on bullets with no cannelure.
Really they are just low power hole punches like any other handgun. I like it because range ammo is only 7.50 a box for me, and the round carries more energy than the 9.
I carry a Glock mid size 23/19 almost everywhere. Using methods ranging from an iwb, to an ankle rig, to a shoulder holster, and even a undershirt shoulder rig.
Have you tried shooting cast lead 147's thru a cleanable can? I am finding those projectiles for about 7c each. That works out to about $5.50 a box for subsonic 9mm.
You trying to cycle an ar, or shoot them thru a bolt gun/ single shot? I shoot 30 cal subsonic in .308, 30-30, etc using 150 plated for 25c per round, but you will have a hard time getting the bolt to cycle with that weight bullet and stay subsonic.
:third: mini 14, just kidding, not trolling. Honestly, when you look at the ammunition cost vs. cost of the firearm to get 20k down the barrel, it is no big deal to trash the rifle at 20k and start over.
