If I wern't already set up in 30-30, I would get a revolver caliber. Less breaks for reloading and cheap to choot.

Don't know, never tried it before. 100 is extreme long range sniper 30-30 work for me. Usually it kills unwanted critters by flashlight at 10 yards.

I like some of the Italian made 1873's. A .45 or .357 would be fun.

You can just shoot my 30-30 for a few days and see if you get tired of it before buying. Is is the vastly superior pre-safety Winchester 94, so don't get spoiled:boink:

I have loaded the ftx and they are almost like a plated bullet the jackets are so soft. They must really dump their energy. My Hornady seating die was leaving a ring on all the bullets. The original 30-30 load was a 160 grain bullet traveling at 1900 fps. It was known as the .30 WCF

Have a friend that popped one around 200 with a 35 Remington. IT was a bang-flop. That is impressive for that squatty round for sure.

150's are downloaded in factory ammunition to make the poi close to 170's. If you roll your own, you can safely up the velocity. 2,400 fps with CFE .223 and 2,500 with Leverevolution

I perfer 30-30 for a utility/ dispatching round. I don't care what anyone the internet says, a 30-30 round will NOT bounce off an armadillo. Also it will always cycle subsonic rounds, as soon as you cycle the lever.

I don't hunt but love to shoot. My 30-30 load is a 150 plated bullet over 10 grains of Unique moderately crimped. It turns the 30-30 into a .357 mag and costs less that a quarter to shoot.

Still haven't gotten that taste out of your mouth I see. I told you there were easier ways to get $20 before you went into that truck stop bathroom.

You have never shot my reloads with spire point bullets out of 30-30. The problem is with the tubular magazine, not the cartridge. A 300 magnum would be a 300 yard cartridge if loaded with flat point bullets.
