just ran 8 miles

Cars are way more efficient for traveling that sort of distance. If you needed a ride you should have asked, Id have gave you a lift.

but really, I wish I could run that far. My joints cant take that much abuse so I just ride my bike.

Good shoes and form makes a huge difference. It takes a while to get your body used to the abuse, but it will adapt.

I've tried the good shoes and form. I've broken both ankles in the past so they are just super weak. I went running a few months back. After 1 mile my ankles awoke up so bad I had to call I sick to work the next day.

eeeyugh.

I still have two titanium screws in mine, maybe they're helping after all.

Well yeah it was broken you needed surgery for sure. Mine broke in three places, my heel bone broke off, and my leg broke, all in the same fall.
Yeah the doctor admitted later he underestimated the damage and I should have gotten surgery

I had hairline fractures and stage 3 or 4 sprains. Did the same injury to both ankles a year apart. Doc put me in a cast both times.

Working a single stage press, prepping 200 308 cases for Subsonic loads.. At my age this is a job, not only tumble clean, making my case lube solution, resizing and decaping, re-tumble, drill out flash hole, cleaning out primer pocket, and triming with last tumble. Then I can load and test with crono..gonna take awhile...Now for an old man that is a work out.

I did a thing this morning for the first time in a few weeks. Treadmill, squats, flat bench, and some sort of shoulder thing.

I ran the "5K" at the runngun Friday. (really it's about 4 miles, not 3.1) - Came back home, ran five hard, hilly miles in the sun on Tuesday. Going back out today. Foot seems to be healed, so I'll slowly increase mileage. With 100 degree temps, the slowly part comes easy.
