It's a weight thing....that and parts compatibility.Makes sense, I was just thinking that by the time you buy all the parts to shoot this round why wouldnt you be better off just getting a .308

understandable, Thanks for clarifying that. It's a weight thing....that and parts compatibility.
6.5 Grendel bolt(not really rare)So you have to use a specific bolt, barrel, and mags? the only real benefit of this over .308 is using a standard AR-15 Lower?
Yea but it won't cycle subs with a 308Makes sense, I was just thinking that by the time you buy all the parts to shoot this round why wouldnt you be better off just getting a .308
6.5 Grendel bolt(not really rare)
New follower in your 556 mag
Barrel
Well wolf is now producing 6.5, and that's a sick round.thats not that bad, I guess it will just depend on whether or not the round gains popularity
So it's just a new follower, not a whole new mag?6.5 Grendel bolt(not really rare)

Barrel
....but I would be willing to bet that 300BLK supers are defeating barriers that 5.56 isn't.Here's my thing. I think a 30 cal AR15 is cool, but if the wound can't out do 556, then it's dumb.
300blk supers aren't really surpassing 556 wound channels, maybe the speed of the 30 ARX can help expand wind profiles.

You going to tell us your steel plate story again?not a chance in hell.
Nvm, it's not possible, 556 mags have internal ridges that won't allow for the 6.5 to doublestackSo it's just a new follower, not a whole new mag?
And then would it only be a USGI mag follower? Or do they work across the board with PMAG's, Lancer's, etc.?
You going to tell us your steel plate story again?
Eh...maybe, maybe not.Nope, but there is no way that a 115gr bullet going 2000fps is going to out penetrate a 62gr penetrator doing 3k.
Would be cool to get a "penetrator" style 30cal option with modern ammunitionNope, but there is no way that a 115gr bullet going 2000fps is going to out penetrate a 62gr penetrator doing 3k.
I'm going to find some .30-o5AP rounds and pull the bullets and load them for .300. Genius.Would be cool to get a "penetrator" style 30cal option with modern ammunition
Nope, but there is no way that a 115gr bullet going 2000fps is going to out penetrate a 62gr penetrator doing 3k.
62gr penetrators suck for just about everything other than that.
A 115 grain fmj at 2000fps is going to be a lot more versatile IMO.
Oh, I agree on the 62gr penetrator, I was just using it as an example. 69 gr blows hell out of 300 BLK ballistics as well.
True but hard if not impossible to suppress worth a damn.
Everything's a compromise.
