I shall try and trade you for your 6.8 upper, and if successful shall do several side by side comparisons to share with the group. I doubt that I will shoot any living creatures besides armidillos or coyotes.
It can probably be deep seated since you won't need as much case capacity for sub loads, since the smaller 300blk has enough case capacity to launch the big ones.Interesting....I wonder if the additional length of the case will limit bullet selection? Some of those 110gr bullets have a relatively lengthy ogive as compared to the 220gr. I'd be concerned they wouldn't seat well.
Also, additional expense of a 6.5 bolt....but if you already have a 6.5, that's negated. Either way, innovation is a rising tide for all boats. Cool, find..,thanks, lax!
Right, I get that...what I'm more concerned with are supersonic loads and lighter bullets. With the case neck that much higher, I just wonder if it eliminates any bullets due to their ogive. It can probably be deep seated since you won't need as much case capacity for sub loads, since the smaller 300blk has enough case capacity to launch the big ones.
26 rounds in a standard sized magWhat about mag capacity seems like that one is a bit chunkier?
This....so it is rounds limited over the 300BLK, but as with everything, it's a compromise.26 rounds in a standard sized mag
iirc they make 30 rd Grendel mags, but they are longer than stanang mags.This....so it is rounds limited over the 300BLK, but as with everything, it's a compromise.
Again, though, a compromise.iirc they make 30 rd Grendel mags, but they are longer than stanang mags.
Again, though, a compromise.
6.5 uses different mags? I didn't know that....if that's true, it's another real con for non 6.5 owners already. One of the beautiful things about 300BLK is the bolt/mag compatibility. It's a trade off. You don't get you use your 5.56 bolt or mags,
I think that's maybe a little unfair given the case dimensions but your point is vaild. It's not a super contender at distance.but you aren't limited to the 300 BLK's shitty supersonic ballistics.
I don't know about the mags, but yes to the barrel and bolt. NWS says you need different mags but I admit to being somewhat ignorant of the 6.5 AR platform. So you have to use a specific bolt, barrel, and mags? the only real benefit of this over .308 is using a standard AR-15 Lower?
