@gaigeboyd you picked the wrong place to visit if you're looking for cheap. Battlefield Vegas is pretty close to the strip. We thought about going but didn't. Vegas kind of sucks. However, since you've never been you'll probably like it. I went when I was 21 and it was very cool with some college buddies. They've ruined the game of Blackjack, but you don't really plan on gambling.
Why would you go to Vegas if you're not gambling or getting hookers?

Heartily agree. I’ve been to Vegas twice, first time on business and second for an anniversary. Both times I didn’t spend a nickel on gambling. It’s boring as hell in the casinos.

Best stuff to do has nothing to do with The Strip - unless you’re single and looking to get laid, which you’re not.
Rent a fast car and drive over to Death Valley, it’s damned neat, especially at night on the salt flats. When I was there, there was no moon and the stars just popped out of the sky. Red Rocks Canyon was a nice hike. Also saw a gold mine south of town, but it turned out to be a rebuilt ghost town for Hollywood movies, not the real thing.
If you really gotta do a Vegas thing, there’s a show called “Absinthe” that was pretty good. Seriously hot ladies doing very cool stuff. Think ‘Sexy Cirque du Soleil’. Or see Penn&Teller, they put on a good show.
Stay in a nice hotel off the strip, and eat like a local (don’t even buy drinks on the strip, I got one and it was a $21 jack and coke). Our hotel was about 15 min from the strip, and was nicer than most of the Casino places.
