The Colt I sold @Shemp when he was carrying an Ed Brown Kobra and introduced me to skip line checkering.

One of my KIMBERS that never gave me a hint of trouble and was my EDC for a minute...

Other various 1911s I should have kept longer than I did...

I'm really thinking about getting one of those SA 1911A1 reverse two tone LW. For whatever reason that gun just looks so fantastic.

I guess I could get one of those checkered fro t strap covers that go under the grips

Unreliable 1911. Hmmm. Imagine that. Guess the military has been wrong for about a century now.
I have had a lot of 1911s...from Kimbers to RIAs to Ed Browns. I can count the number of malfunctions I've had on one hand in the many thousands of rounds of .45 I've slung through them...about the same number I've had with the polymer guns ive had.

The MOST unreliable gun I ever had was a Khar. Second was a Sig 320 VTAC, followed by a Sig 320C RX, followed by a few G42s and a G43.

I hunted that BiTone for a good minute before I found one. Apparently SA makes a run of a few models and then stops production to make a different run of others. The BiTone never came back into production but they're awesome when you find a nice one.

I had a Custom II TLE that was absolutely fantastic. They come with front strap checking, so that is a big plus.

People shit on Kimbers all the time, but I think a certain portion of that is from internet hype.
The only Kimber i ever owned was a Custon II, all black not the two tone carbon/stainless, the bottom of the Kimber barrel in 1911s. I bought it used, like heavily used, and it was not much to look at. BUT....it was, and still is to this day the most reliable 1911 I have owned. I had some flying ashtray hollow point ammo that was problematic in my SA and Colt 1911s. I had set it aside to shoot in my S&W 1917 revolver because it was so unreliable in my 1911s...constant failure to feed issues. That worn out Kimber would feed and fire that ammo and anything else I fed it all day long. It really amazed me. I sold it for $500, lol.....story of my life. Maybe I had the only reliable Kimber ever made, who knows?

Headed to adventure outdoors any of you near?
Ugh. Rude management there. The guys behind the counter are nice enough but there's a lot of limits on what they can do to make up for the guys watching every move anyone on the floor makes through the cameras.

I'm about 30-40 min drive from there, and don't often bother to drop in. It's a shit show.

First claw opened. I could see drinking these sitting around a pool or something. We'll see how the kick goes.
