Why is the Russian SKS roughly the price of an AK?

"These rifles will all need to be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly before firing. Also please remember that an SKS has a free-floating firing pin, which can cause slam fires if the firing pin is stuck in the outside position."

Yup. 10rd full auto cause a primer shard somehow jammed the firing pin forward.

Are parts easily accessible?

Yes, similar breakdown to AK. Receiver cover lock, receiver cover, BCG, gas tube lock, gas tube.
Piston is not connected to the bolt carrier and it is spring loaded, so be careful taking it apart.
