You guys know what SAR-1’s are worth in today’s market? Looking at one on ODT for 900 but that seems to be a lot

My son snuck out of the house early morning on the day after Christmas a few years ago to give his ultra light a try in his grand mama's pond. When I walked down to look for him (cause I knew what he was up to) he was silently battling this, reeling it in, drag spinning away set for the 5 pound test. I just stood there and watched him, praying it didn't jump and get away. When he finally got it to the bank, I did go down and help get it to dry land......He was so stoked, standing there in his wet pajamas and no shoes, and I was so proud of him....even though he was breaking the rules.
That's how a fisherman for life is born right there.

Some SAR-1 are worth $900 currently.....but not that one.

The furniture is a cobbled together replacement for the original (original was either shellaced hardwood palm swell or oil finished laminate palm swell)......$700-$750 rifle
3 Korean Mags.......worthless to me, but realistically maybe $20
2 Magpul mags.......same-same
150 rounds of ammo.....$30
Romy grip and leather sling......throw it in for free for heavens sake!
So in total in todays craziness it might be worth $750 - $800
I personally would feel good buying at $700
Now this....this is a $900 SAR-1...fully de-banned and hot blued

I offered $700 for it. He came down to $850. Said the barrel is threaded and the bayo lug is not ground off which I thought was weird

That has the original SAR-1 furniture.......BUT I have never seen a SAR-1 with crushed flat rivets like that! I would be suspicious that sometime in it's life that rifle has had it original rivets replaced by bubba, and at worst case the other parts may or may not be Cugir SAR. The receiver looks to have been refinished too, and show signs of prior rust/pitting, sanding (light inport marks) and some kind of paint applied. I would steer far away from that gun unless you really want it bad.Thanks for your detailed response. This is the one I am looking at:

I just noticed the trunnion.......NOT SAR-1.....That's a kit build using a demilled SAR-1 receiver. Might be OK, might be junk. Based on the rivets I'm going with junk.
I thought this was the one you were talking about.....still priced too high, but a much better rifle.
