how did you strip it? Did you just use some elbow grease to polish er out? I've only polished my 686 before with Mothers thats about it, oh and I polished a feed ramp on a tec-9 but as far as stripping goes have not gone down that road

To strip blueing I use a 10 minute soak in vinegar, wipe the blueing off and then 0000 steel if necessary to remove any remaining patches.
To remove the billboard I actually sanded it down by hand using various grades of sandpaper and sanding blocks.
To polish I use Mothers mag and aluminum polish which takes a FUCKTON of elbow grease to get the desired finish.

Most cringe worthy thing for me is to see a 1980's K10 K5 or whatever with some flashy thug ass rims on it. I literally have to look the other way it dis-heartens me so much. Or when someone takes off the badges on their old truck/car, nah man keep those beautiful classic badges on there.
Billboards on guns annoy me. I can't stand them. Especially on the Ruger revolvers.
