Steel lugs, no metal in the lips, IIRC. I do not have any of them. Just steel Romanian, Soviet and Chinese in 40rd capacity.

It's the reverse... they have steel reinforced feed lips, but the lugs are plastic.

I do not like pulling mags out of bins, once I put them away. I had 5 East German mags I had used for the last 15 years. Put them away last year, to top off the tub. They are just too nice.

I'm the same way... but I also have a large open bin with just range mags of all types - orphans, extras, scratch & dents, etc.

2) Wire clip rear lug and feed lips, front lug, commercial



3) Military Arsenal Circle 10, solid lugs front and rear, bottom inserts, spline inserts

I need to do the same. I have 10 Polish painted with thick paint that AIM sold a while back. They suck. I need to sand the paint down and make them range mgs.
I might have a dozen of Grade 3 mags I had picked up for cheap years ago. Need to find them and put them to work.

I had some Hungarian mags with horrible thick paint all over them. I painted them with citristrip, wrapped them in plastic wrap, and scraped all the crud off of them with a wire brush under hot water. I ended up using Oxpho-Blue on the stripped mags and they came out decently for the most part.

I always forget what to call the Magpul AK mags--The ones without reinforcements are MOE and the reinforced ones are GEN M3. I don't think there is a GEN 2.

will second confirm, that is correct. Actually the 1st would just be referred to as M2. You could call it Gen1 and the M3 is Gen2!

I don't have it anymore. But I'm sure it held 40 rounds, I had to put it together when I received it and there was a normal spring/follower/keeper/floorplate with it. That sticker is interesting. Any idea why they would mark it as such? Has to be for export to other countries but we're the only ones with mag limitations?

Germany has some 10 round limits too!

I think I'm gonna eventually get a black polymer set and try my hand at cerakoting some Fakelite, but need some wood for now. At least a buttstock.
