Correct, but I believe serial numbers with the "NM" prefix are made in the US

IIRC I saw one for sale last year on GB, they're squared off instead of round like the wood ones. Price was $1K I believe. They're very rare, either very limited production or they never left the experimental phase, I can't remember which?
Not since 2015.....100% American made since then. Prior to that all the forgings were done by Imbel in Brazil. Some were completely machined and assembled there some had final machining and assembled here. In 2015 all forgings were sourced in the US and complete machining and assembly is done here.SA 1911 is made in Brazil IIRC.

NM serial numbers prior to 2015 were made in the US with Imbel forgings. After 2015 American forged upper and lower receiver. I would take a 100% Imbel Brazil Springfield 1911 over any of the Philippine 1911 manufactures pumping out cast lower 1911's.Correct, but I believe serial numbers with the "NM" prefix are made in the US
