man all this porsche talk makes me keep thinking i've GOT to finish the turbo miata soon. its close i just need to quit being lazy, track season is right around the corner!
I dont know why people turbo those things. A supercharger would seem more appropriate, but I have no idea if one is made for it

I once owned a 1973 1/2 Porsche 911T. I bought it while I was stationed in Arizona, great place to buy a car, ZERO rust. It was 100% original, except the four tires...the spare was even OEM. Only had 40,000 mile on it when I bought it. Bought it from a hippy lib ASU professor. He was funding a 912 purchase. He loved that car so much he talked to me for two weeks before he would sell it to me at his asking price. When I took it away, he stood in his driveway and watched me until the car was out of sight. Looked just like this pic, except it had original cookie cutter rims. Sepia for the MFW!

Got married, had kids and sold it. Wish I still had it. But cars come and go......Family is forever, so it's all good.

Probably worth a small fortune today! I'm jealous. I'd love to even just ride in one, much less own one!

I drove a highly tuned C63 AMG for a little while. The torque was unbelievable. Stomp the gas too hard and you could probably break your neck. It was absolutely insane.
I drove one in Geramny for a few days....it made me fall in love with AMG. I've legit looked at E63s several times since coming back. That has got to be one of the best sounding engines ever made....like a roided up Messerschmitt still fighting the war

there is and honestly turbos still tend to make more sense. the supercharges wont net you that much power on them and while they help on the low end, you wind out the extra power fairly quickly. Miatas are meant to get up to speed and stay there so high end tends to be more favored than the low end. A super charged one will be good to get around 175-180 and with a ton of work close to 200. Mine should be right at 250 with a conservative tune and i can still get way more if i decide to get a little risky.

and already at 250 it is insanely fun but still very manageable.

Eh...I guess I prefer useable instant power. Maybe if it was a small ball bearing turbo. Granted, almost all of my track driving experience is from the Nurburgring where there arent a ton of straights but TONS of elevation changes and corners

the track is the big reason why turbos are preferred. The instant power is great for daily around town but when your pretty much staying on it the entire time at the track you can keep the RPM's high enough easily to stay in the power band.

After this one is complete and i move on im actually going to move on to something even worse off the line lol, but the rotary always beats strong in my heart so its time for an FD soon.
