Check the IVs before you transfer any off or evolve one. Just hit the bottom right button when you're looking at the pokemon, then select 'appraise'. I wouldn't evolve anything less than 3 stars

Awwww..... Glad you told me about that though. Never knew about the “Appraise” feature.

As you get to higher levels, the pokemon you encounter will get bigger. Also, the level you can power pokemon to increases with each level until you get to level 35 (I think).
So, just because it's small now doesn't mean you shouldn't keep it around.

Here is my sadness. Though I am still fairly new. I got an egg from @YUK0N today. Finally figured out how to incubate it. Should hatch early tomorrow. Interested to see what it is.

Egg hatching is good stuff. You get lots of candy from an egg hatch, but also XP and stardust.

Also, there are ways to force ever evolutions by giving them a specific nickname, but it only works once for each evolution

@YUK0N , got a 3 star Froakie out of the egg you sent me. @1776, I got a Psychic Ponyta. Shows how far behind I am. I only knew about the fire type Ponyta. Sheesh.
