The raid difficulty is indicated by the little heads underneath.
For a 1, unless very low level, most players should be able to do solo.

Any battle tips? I tried to battle a Rocket yesterday and died. I couldn’t figure out how to swap moves.
Changing moves requires using a fast or charged TM, depending on which move you want to change. Game press.gg/pokemongo will show you the best move sets and give a good explanation. just search for whatever Pokémon and it’ll have tons of data.

Also, when you win rocket battles, you get a chance to catch one of the Pokémon they used.. when you catch it, it’ll be a ‘shadow’ Pokémon. Do a little googling before you purify it. Shadow Pokémon get a big attack bonus and some of them are much better as shadow. Shadow mewtwo is the best in the game, but a few others (machop and larvitar) are definitely worth keeping shadow and evolving.

Right now, trades players to be within a few meters if each other. There's hope that they'll extend the distance soon.
I think it only works the other way. I transfer in the Pokémon I can’t catch on the switch from my Pokémon Go.
You are correct. Go on occasion gets some pokemon that are rather hard to find on the switch versions from what I'm told. Genesect was a raid a few weeks back...apparently it's pretty much impossible to get on the switch versions.
