I did 2 weeks ago at Talladega with my home-made rifle. Hit the 650 yard target reliably on the “unknown distance” steel target range.

No, it just means that your rifle can consistently hit a target at 650 meters. It dosen't matter if you spent $500 or $2,000 on the rifle. I guess my point is that the price point of a rifle doesn't necessarily equal accuracy. I've been surprised by many budget build rifles, in terms of reliability and accuracy. And I haven't been very impressed by high dollar AR platform rifles as a whole. I like to say it's more about the Indian, than the bow.
