Longer barrel is more accurate and bullets develop more velocity. In Soviet army RPK men were trained as DMR, as well as machine gunners.
Most accurate civillian stamped AK I shot was a 20" Vepr. 1.5" 3 shot group at 100 yards.

I still haven't found my fookin tackle box. I'm getting pissed. Went fishing with my BIL's stuff last weekend at Fort Yargo and got the itch to get back out and start ripping some lips myself.
When I tested it, I gained 50fps per inch, going from 16" to 20" barrel, for a total of 200fps
have not fished in a few years. was really into it for many years. always enjoyed fishing!!!
I literally have no idea where else it would be. I'll find it after I go out and spend $200+ replacing everything that I lost. That's usually how it goes.
