Tonight's episode of Adventures in AR Smithin'

I'm going to withhold the manufacturer name until the owner can contact them. Once they respond, I'll update with a name and how they chose to resolve the issue. Better be a new barrel. ETA: sorry for the long post, but @dougiemac keeps asking for more quality content. So I thought I'd post up...

Tonight's episode of Adventures in AR Smithin'

I've seen it one other time in my LGS. They had two factory assembled guns (the manufacturer escapes my memory) that did the same thing. Customer wanted to buy one, but wanted to swap the cheesy muzzle brake out because it looked like Sauron's helmet from the Hobbit. The guy in the shop went to...

Tonight's episode of Adventures in AR Smithin'

As some of you know, I am a certified armorer. I don't work for a gun shop or make any money whatsoever by wrenching on AR's. I simply got certified for my own fulfilment and because I enjoy it. Over the years, I've built alot of rifles, both for myself and others. I've also worked on and...

OK Let's Start Some Ish, Full-Auto or Semi-Auto Bolt Carrier

My full auto ignorance is showing. Does a lightning link use a semi carrier?

OK Let's Start Some Ish, Full-Auto or Semi-Auto Bolt Carrier

There's absolutely no reason to use a semi carrier in an AR. Unless of course you just enjoy oppressing yourself.

    Now this is a SBR

That was nuts! You can actually see the projectile protruding from the muzzle. I'm actually very surprised that they could get the rifle to cycle at all.

When one wants to build out a registered lower.

I know right? I used to think it wasn't necessary. But I've seen more than a few jacked up lowers since 2013 and have since reconsidered the wisdom in that. What really got my attention was receiving not one, but two out of spec Noveske lowers in a row. Now, I check everything.

When one wants to build out a registered lower.

Personally, I don't mind spending the money on a good trigger. But for the money, the Geissele G2S is the best bang for the buck. Similar pull compared to the SSA, but with a little legwork and patience you can find them for $125-135.

Apologies, I got lost in the lower discussion. That's easy. Buy the best you can afford and upgrade later if you want / need to.

When one wants to build out a registered lower.

As it has already been stated, it doesn't matter. Alot of guys will tell you that a lower is a lower and just use whatever you can find cheapest. I went a different route with my two SBR lowers and used a higher end forged lower, one from KAC. Because KAC is cool and the lower held some...

Do you feed and seed your lawn?

I use Scott's. They do an OK job, but I have a persistent issue with crabgrass and tall fescue. Since the EPD banned the use of MSMA, there's basically nothing they can do to control it. I'm thinking about dumping the service as a result.

    UFC Fights

I think boxers use petroleum jelly. I haven't watched a fight in years, so I'm not sure about UFC.

    Google Search

I had the same issue when trying to look it up to cut/paste the url and send to a couple of buddies. The site is a bitch to find on Google. Which sucks, because I'd like to be able to just tell folks to Google southeasttrader.com.
