Agreed. The biggest difference between the two is the trigger. I'd highly recommend shooting both and deciding which one you like best. If you set aside the triggers and shooting characteristics, the VP9 does have better aftermarket support, more sight options, etc.

I literally just keep mine in the truck box so that I know it's with me all the time. Whether I'm at deer camp or trout camp, it sees alot of use. It's also great to hang on the deck on those trips to PCB. Salt air is tough on the buckles though. Do you use the tree straps with yours?

That's pretty much the idea. But most competitive shooters also handload + swap recoil springs to produce minimum recoil and keep the gun as flat as possible. Lightening the slide alone is really just part of the equation.
