20 years ago K98's were $99 bucks... Try finding a Russian capture K98 for less than $300 bucks. If you want a 91/30 shop around on the used market, for someone who is strapped for cash, and will sell his for around the $100-$150 mark.

Go with the Arsenal AK, if buying a new one... Or shop around for a MAK-90. I miss my MAK-90, as it was the best shooting AK, I've ever fired, but I'm not a fan of 7.62x39.

Then again, you can build a AK out of a shovel... ;)

Just my .2 cents from what I have seen. 1st off, I dont really count the mag's as part of the weapons system, and have seen many, many M16 mag related failures. Mainly because supply NCO's reissue fucked up mags, so I tell all my students if they have a bad mag to stomp that fucker flat, THEN...

I have 3 Eotech's and I have abused them, A LOT... ( it helps that I got my Eotechs for $215- $300 bucks w/ a military discount from Eotech) I also have a Vortex strike fire, that I think of as a poor mans M-64 CCO. I'd like a T1 micro, but I dont have the cash to shell out for one.

I have 1st dibbs on the MAK-90...:) I traded it to him for a Arsenal 5.56 AK. I got out of 7.62x39, but kept that rifle for years after I got rid of all of my other stuff. I still wish I had it. Its the best shooting AK, I've ever seen.

2nd AK question... I know (or pretty sure) that I have seen RPK style 5.45x39 AK-74's... I have not seen them in awhile... have they gone the way of the dodo as well, and I have to find one on gun broker?

Do they make any under folders in 5.45x39 ? Or is that a custom project?

I like the 7.62x25 round as well... Its too bad I didn't get on the train, and stock it up when it was dirt cheap... I'd love to have a semi PPK...

That sounds about right^^^ I want one of these, it could be in the original 8mm kurtz, or 7.62x39, or 300 BO, anything but 22lr... and I'd buy it.
