I may be wrong, but from what I understand the actual carrier is made by condor. I've heard they make quality stuff for the money, but it is still made in China

No, the Banshee is made in the ole' U-S of A...I'm not looking to buy cheap chinese shit, when we're talking "potential life saving equipment". (I use that term loosely, as I don't really see myself ever using it in that capacity)

Just read somewhere that AR500 has a recall on some of their Level III body armor.
I think they should reevaluate their penetration resistance claims.
Why? Because of their broad claims regarding caliber. There are factors involved such as bullet type and velocity that are not considered or purposely overlooked to give a false sense of protection.
I've tested a lot of their products and have realized blanket statements regarding caliber and protection do not equal the claims made.
Plenty readily available (not ap rated) ammo that defeats regular ar500, and some that defeat the higher grades.

Yep. Level III plates. But I still don't understand why people are willing to use steel plates. One piece of spall into the neck, groin or thigh and you are done. Hard armor is not something to skimp on. And you can find some pretty good deals on Level III+ ceramics for just a little more money. I think there are some good deals on the Hesco plates floating around.

Exactly. AR500 makes alot of unfounded or outright misleading claims. M193 will zip through most of their plates at close range.

Damn that looks like a great deal- I didn't know about it and don't have enough time to figure out all the details. Some armor has been on my list lately because it seems like a prime item on President Hillary's ban list.

And should push come to shove, there's nothing like not getting shot. And there's no questioning my previous post which said I'd look like a turtle on it's back should I ever fall over wearing a plate carrier, mags, ammo, etc. I'm not in fast walking shape, much less running around while weighed down shape.
