Very interesting......Utah law says they can open carry un-loaded guns.... :-\

Does that mean the mags have to be unloaded if carried openly but seperate from the gun.... :-\

Open carry here is "No round in chamber...and 2 steps from firing". I have no interest in open carry. Never did want to be the first target in a shtf.

Wow! Dude has king size nads to do that. I agree with keeping it concealed. Iowa law allows open carry also with no "two step" or "empty pipe" rule but I haven't herd of anyone actually carrying one around the neighborhood straped on their back. I'll let someone else test the rules.
Low profile for me.

Well as some folks used to say his heart might be in the right place but I'd seriously question where his head is at. It could definately lead to trouble. No thanks.

many activities are legal and are still really terrible ideas.

if I saw a man walk in to a store I was shopping at with an AR over his shoulder, I'd say to myself; kudos to him for understanding and exercising his 2A rights. and then I'd grab my family and scram.

Been thinking about this for a couple of days and this is definitely something I would not do!
As far as how I would react, well that depends. I would surely clear my family of the area but if there were children or other innocent people around I don't think I could just abandon the situation. It's really hard to tell how anyone would react to this. On one hand this could just be someone exercising his 2A rights, but who knows, he could go nutso! As a card carrying conceal carry citizen I would probaby go with my gut feeling and hang out on the fringes for awhile and just see what transpires. I don't think I could sleep well at night knowing that I could and should have done something if something bad went down. But that's just me. JMHO ???

While it is well within his rights to do this, I don't think the youngster realizes how easy it would be for him to get shot. Then when the shooter said I was in fear for my life, in today's climate of the evil AR who wouldn't believe them? And there he would lay without a single round fired.

I don't like the way he is carrying his weapon! It is pointing at people! The guy to the right of him should have flipped out at him. I would have told him muzzle up or down or get out of here!

This could have turned into a bad day. A hoplophobic bigot could have lied and stirred up the Police. Then if the boy didn't answer the questions correct or if he made the wrong move, the Police would have shot him. Remember how Erik Scott was gunned down at Costco? And how many would be hit in the crossfire? Remember the 9 people that were shot by mistake in NY when the Police shot the perp 5 feet away from them?

Concealed carry is fine for me. Denny

...agree 100%, Denny. Open carry may be legal in some states, but pointing a gun at a bystander, intentionally or otherwise, is not within the scope of permissible law unless SD is involved, IMHO. Granted the muzzle is pointed down slightly, but I don’t care for being shot in the leg either. He and I would have had a serious discussion about the issue and if he became agitated, then I’d call the police and let them deal with the idiot. I don't put up with that nonsense at a gun range and dang sure not at my local retailer.

Furthermore, we don’t know if the AR is loaded. The rifle is slung on his back, thus totally out of his control. So, some kid sees the neat rifle and manages to disengage the safety (if on) and pull the trigger…cause that’s the way he saw it operate in a video game…bang (if loaded).
