It ain't for me necessarily anyway. I want a pistol in the door of the safe that the wife or daughters could pull out in an emergency and use with minimal training and confidence it will work. I can't be here All the time. All part of my plan. If it's never needed it will go to one of my daughters when they go off to college.
Not being a smart ass but doesn’t a Glock fit this bill incredibly well with a larger capacity and higher probability they’re going to hit what they’re aiming at? Revolves, especially snub-nose, in my opinion are probably the worst handgun for a new/inexperienced shooter to use

Limp wristing can cause a jam on a Glock and many other semi auto pistols. Revolvers don't have that problem

I agree to the no Snub Nose. A 4 inch barrel 38 is an excellent pistol for home defense and such.

Probably but they won't be out in the house clearing rooms if it's ever needed. They'll be waiting behind a rack full of clothes with the lights out. Plus I got drunk and tried to by a 357 for me and it got cancelled but I couldn't cancel the ammo order. I have 170 dollars worth of 357 ammo and no gun for it. My strategy is a short term strategy anyway. I want to train them to grab the AR pistol and draco and fuck shit up when the time comes.

@karlvv don't go with a ladysmith. The lighter frame makes it snappier to shoot. No reason not to have a full size steel frame revolver for bedside duty. The extra weight won't matter because you aren't carrying it daily. The extra weight will provide more accurate shots, faster follow up shots, and less perceived recoil.

I almost bought a 6" 7 round at the store the other day. I just didn't like it. I've never owned a revolver but I'm not worried too much about having a snappy one. I'm a big dude and my daughter's are big and strong. If I train them they will handle it like their bitch. My bedside duty is an xdm 10.
