If I had to absolutely have a brand new vehicle I would pay cash and trade it in six months before my warranty ran out and so on after every trade in.

I will give credit to the German BMW 3.0 inline 6. It's tried and true. Benz also Had a great inline diesel.

There are several good BMW inline 6 engines:
70s-early 90s big 6 (M30), 80s small 6 (M20), 01-07 M3/M Coupe/Roadster S54 3.2, and the 07-current models 3.0 turbo.
Mercedes have a lot more, in fact most inline 6 from them, gas or diesel were excellent from mid 50s to mid 90s and then again in 05-06 CDI 3.2

And who wants a BORING non-turbo BMW? Unless it's the older M5 with the V10...

The BMW V10 motors are awesome for a limited lifespan. After 80-100k mi they go to shit. That’s why 06-10 M5/M6 models are so cheap now.

Well yeah, but nowadays we have different expectations regarding what our cars have in them plus all the bullshit govt requirements and all that mess. Just like there’s no profit in the cure regarding health/medical, there’s no profit in reliability with cars.

I'm not flush with that kind of cash, but I trade all mine right before the warranty runs out.
