I had a 94 .... one of my favorite cars, with the exception that the v6 in those are terribly underpowered

japanese v6s in trucks and suv's seemed all under powered for awhile. i've always laughed at the fact my miata has more HP than my frontier and the engine in the frontier is almost twice the size.

Yeah, but American cars still hold the record for being underpowered for their size - especially in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

I was talking with my dad about it last week. We've passed the point of being able to just go back t o work...companys arent bringing in the revenue needed to resume 'normal'operations.
I do think that people are finally starting to wake up to the con job and wont be willing to shelter in place for much longer. The media can throw out its numbers but until there are bodies in the streets people are starting to realize this was all just a tad overhyped.

yup. my company produces scientific equipment that we ship world wide. We havent shipped ANYTHING in two weeks. They furloughed over 50% of the work force at first and tehn sent out "retirement" letters to alot of the higher ups who had been there forever.

I made the cut but just seeing the fact that we arnt shipping anything is making me more nervous than anything as i know even if the were to kill the shelter in place shit around here is going to be fucked up for a long time coming. im praying they end the SIP asap because idk how long we could go on not shipping stuff, we normally do around 10-15 million a month and last month we made 2, this month is looking worse, they gonna have to cut alot of fat to make up all that.

Also doesnt help we were bought by an investment firm less than 6 months ago.

My MIL got laid off two days ago. Been with that company for years and was making over $100k a year. Let her go and some young chick that they just hired who probably makes half of that stay. This is gonna be the new norm. The classes are gonna have a restructuring and shit is gonna get really weird. We are about to witness the biggest economic depression in over a century. There has never been a better time than now to be a blue collar manual laborer.

Or someone who baby sits them

But in all seriousness, a lot of cushy jobs are about to get axed because it's cheaper to let the mid level people pick up the slack...like I said before, the "virus" is becoming the great socialist equalizer. It will do more to move us to socialism than anything in the last 100 years

Yeah man, when you hear people, even people who claim to be Republicans and Libertarians, say, "well I hope the government takes care of them since they are the reason they don't have a job anymore" you know we are headed towards socialism. Or the fact that everyone is waiting by their mailboxes right now for a fucking government check, a lot of those are people who were calling others "welfare queens" or "leaches to society", etc and now they can't wait to deposit that motherfucker. I think this is now becoming a test for the government to see just how much they can get away with right now and we are gonna see some of this stuff relax for a while but they are gonna slowly chip away at the building blocks of the constitution until it is rubble. The left and the right are enjoying their new found power a little too much and it's a really scary thought as to what is next or what is in store for us over the next 20 years(probably sooner).
